Title: Can't create character - invalid name

I created an account yesterday, downloaded the game without a problem. But now when I'm trying to create a character, it keeps saying "Invalid character name". Thinking the name was already taken, I just put in a dummy name like "fsfsfsf" to see if it worked. It still says Invalid character name.

Why does it say this? How can I fix it?

Character name may have up to 8 letters.
If problem persists name is simply taken.

I am also having a similiar issue, im trying to make a new char and it simply disconnects me from the server no matter what name i pick
